In scenarios such as optical system integration, microscopic inspection, spot alignment, and device automatic coupling, many devices have limited internal installation space, making it impossible to accommodate large-volume, large-light-transmitting platforms. The Sefan Optoelectronics 7SWA03 series of electric dual-axis translation stages feature an ultra-thin integrated side-drive structure, distinct from the 7SWA01 mid-light-transmitting model. With its compact size, high orthogonal accuracy, and built-in handwheel for adjustment, it becomes the main solution for automated two-dimensional positioning within confined cavities.
The entire machine adopts an integrated dual-axis base, with orthogonal calibration completed at the factory, avoiding cumulative angle errors caused by stacking two single-axis stages. The structure has a rigid closed-loop. The guide rails use precise cross-roller combinations combined with finely ground V-shaped guide rails, pre-tightened to ensure smooth movement, excellent linearity, and low noise. The transmission core is a finely ground lead screw pair, connected to 42 stepper motors through high-quality elastic couplings. The transmission has good synchronization, low noise, and a stable load capacity of up to 20kg. It also ensures precise control of self-weight and load capacity.
The series includes two mainstream specifications: 7SWA0330 (30mm×30mm) and 7SWA0350 (50mm×50mm). The lead screw pitch is 1mm, and the resolution in 8 subdivision modes can reach 0.000625mm. The repeat positioning accuracy is better than 0.003mm, with straightness and parallelism controlled within 0.02mm. The maximum movement speed is 10mm/s, providing stable and controllable micrometer-level positioning, meeting the precision requirements for spot scanning, sample micro-area collection, and automatic alignment of optical components.
One of its major features is the integrated manual adjustment handwheel. Besides electric control for automatic operation, during the debugging stage, it can be directly adjusted with the handwheel without powering on or using the controller. This makes the initial alignment of the optical path and the positioning of the sample more flexible. Both ends of the platform are equipped with zero position sensors and limit switches, ensuring reliable zero positioning. It also has hardware protection for travel over-limit, preventing accidental damage to the mechanism due to improper operation. The electrical interface uses standard DB9, which can be directly matched with the 7SC series motion controller. It supports point positioning, continuous scanning, multi-axis linkage, and can be programmed by the upper computer software, suitable for laboratory automation testing and production line integration development.
The platform is reserved with standard M6 installation screw holes. The base has standardized installation holes and threaded holes, which can be directly locked onto the optical platform or the cavity of the frame, suitable for compact installation spaces. Many integration projects have the pain point of limited internal space. Ordinary XY stages are too thick and the motors extend outward, occupying the optical path space. The 7SWA03 has a thin layout with the motor and lead screw arranged on the side, perfectly resolving the space contradiction. There is no need to raise the optical path or use additional adapter brackets.
It is widely used in scenarios such as microscopic spectroscopy scanning, laser spot detection, photodetector calibration, passive component automatic coupling, micro-nano sample positioning, and small-scale optical test module integration. It forms a complement with the 7SWA01 white elephant series: 7SWA01 is suitable for transmission optical paths requiring center light-transmitting, while 7SWA03 is suitable for compact positioning scenarios with limited space and no center light-transmitting requirement. Whether it is for scientific research to build an automated optical path or for equipment manufacturers to integrate small detection instruments as a whole, the 7SWA03 ultra-thin electric dual-axis translation stage, with its small volume, high precision, and dual use of electric control and handwheel adjustment, provides a stable and reliable solution for two-dimensional precise motion in compact spaces.
